Just because we don’t really celebrate Easter and are no longer children doesn’t mean we can’t see the potential of those cheap plastic eggs. Sure, kids can go on egg hunts, but we decided to have a scavenger hunt! This weekend seemed like the perfect excuse to run around like kids and take advantage of awesome Easter sales, not that we really need excuses to run around like kids and bestow baskets full of goodies to each other.
We agreed on 8 clues each, some of which were easy and some of which were more difficult leading to looks of extreme confusion and contemplation.
Most suprising of all was how similar a couple of our clues were and that both scavenger hunts ended in the master closet. Probably because of how much stuff a basket could hide under. 😉
After opening our goodies, we ran an errand and then we pretty much relaxed and watched movies for the rest of the day, taking a break to eat yummy salmon.
It was nice to have a day of silliness before heading back to work today and starting on more school work. The last day of school is May 16th, though, so I’ve just got to get through the next couple weeks of craziness.
The first half of April has gone by surprisingly quickly, though, it would still be nice if it was this day next month because then finals will be over and we’ll be that much closer to going on our honeymoon road trip. In the meantime, we’ve been enjoying the warmer weather (when it isn’t snowing, that is).
We did get dressed up and go to a wedding yesterday, and had a good time. I promise we had more fun than the picture denotes. What can I say? I am not comfortable in front of the camera.
Time to hit the books again, but at least I know that Josh won’t be bored in the meantime. 😉
Because Josh made me breakfast last weekend, it was my turn to surprise him with something this Sunday morning. Josh’s hearty enchiladas were delicious, but I decided to go a different route and give us both sugar shock.
Josh waited patiently…
While I cut up bread, strawberries, and proceeded to mix together obscene amounts of sugar, cream cheese, bananas, chocolate chips, and a few other things.
And this is how we do it. Yes, there is an absence of bacon, but I think the whipped cream makes up for it. Bring on the food coma.
And everyone could use a soft squishy belly to rub. 🙂
*Taking a much needed break from schoolwork to have an indoor picnic with Josh and play Bananagrams,
finally test out the new surround sound. What better way then James Bond?
We also got to use the cedar planks that Josh got as a gift on the grill with some yummy salmon. We used a maple glaze, which was excellent. I have cookbooks, I just haven’t had as much time as I’d like to use them.
*Josh made Uzi’s day by letting him get some fresh air outside.
*Josh cooking me a suprise for breakfast.
*Waiting patiently for breakfast with Ziggy.
*Josh added a few shelves to the pantry, and I reorganized. I now want to organize everything and get started on Spring cleaning, partially because who knows what we’ll find throughout the house… like these potatoes we forgot we had in the pantry. Left alone much longer they might have fulfilled their evil plans of taking over the world.
